List of authorized users

In case you are an employee or a student of the University of Pécs and are authorized to use the services of our university’s wifi network, we automatically have created your ID with which you have access to eduroam.

Rules of user name and password creation

Your eduroam username consists of your username (usually the user’s EHA or Neptun code where EHA stands for: Student Number) used in the Neptun (Neptun stands for: Electronic Database of Academic Courses and Scores) and the characters @tr.pte.hu. For example: the user whose Student Number is [ASDFGHJ.PTE] will get the ASDFGHJ.PTE@tr.pte.hu username in the eduroam system. Your password is the same as the one you use in the Neptun. In case you change your password in the Neptun your eduroam password will also change. Keep your password safe! In case you realize or suspect that somebody is using your password and username illegally change your password immediately in the Neptun. Report the case to the IT customer services. Since the member institutions of eduroam are obliged to keep their activity logs for only two months any case investigations following this interval is dubious. 

Terms of use

Within the territory of our university eduroam can be used according to the university’s rules and regulations in use for the university’s wifi network. Within the territory of any other eduroam member institutions one may use eduroam as an eduroam guest user of the given institution.  In case of using any other member institution’s eduroam the host institution’s rules and regulations for guest users, the rules and regulations for eduroam users and the rules and regulations of the University of Pécs’ wifi network usage should all be followed. Breaking the rules may entail sanctions! In case you are banned from using the networks of the eduroam member institutions, you will automatically be banned from our university’s wifi network users also. 

Personal data handling

While using eduroam network data are produced that make it possible to identify you. These data are monitored both at the spot (at the member institution where you are a guest) and also at the University of Pécs as the mother institution and are stored for minimum 2 to maximum 6 months. The operators are not allowed to communicate these data to a third party unless otherwise instructed by law. However, they keep the right to correlate the logs while tracking security incidents and use them in proceedings. 

Method of usage

"eduroam" SSID is being advertised on our university’s premises. It provides network services secured by WPA1, WPA2 AEP or TKIP encodes. Each user can choose freely from the above encodings. They should use their full eduroam login name as username and their Neptun (Electronic Database of Academic Courses and Scores) password as password. Our wifi network identified by "eduroam" SSID provides identical services to that of PTE-PUBLIC but its traffic is encoded thus securing our data.
